This month has been another shitty one for the blog, but I'm trying to fix that this week and next week. Anyway, I should probably warn you that this song is really sad. The meaning is pretty obvious once you hear it; it's about a man who is sitting in his jail cell, remembering the night a man shot the love of his life and dropped the gun. He then picked up the gun and shot the guy who killed his love.
It's really sad, but it's also beautiful.
In any case, as usual, I encourage you to listen to the song and check out He Is We, since a lot of their stuff is really good. I hope you like the song, it's really quite fantastic and emotional.
In this song, written by Eminem and Dr Dre, tells the story of three men who are all going to commit violent or sexual crimes or are doing things that calls their morels into action. Eminem plays the bad side of the Conscience where as Dr Dre plays the good side. The song runs through the three stories where Eminem and Dr Dre are trying to convince the three what is the right thing to do.
During the first verse, a man is going to rob a store to help pay for his family; Dr Dre tries to convince the man that this was not the right thing to do, where as Eminem tries to convince the man that he can get away with the crime. The man chooses the right thing to do and does not rob the store - instead he leaves.
In the second verse a young man finds a fifteen year old girl, drunk at a party; Eminem tries to convince they man that if he slips something into her drink, he will get away with doing what he likes with her, where as Dr Dre tries to convince him that it was not right to take advantage of this young woman, that he would go to jail and ruin this girl's life. The man decides that the right thing to do is take advantage of the girl.
The third and final verse is about a man who comes home from a long day to find his wife with another man; Eminem tells the man that he should kill both his wife and the man and then take the child and leave, while Dr Dre begins to try and calm the man down, saying that there could be a reasonable explanation for what is going on, but Eminem antagonizes him and Dr Dre eventually agrees with Eminem that the moral thing to do is kill both of the wife and he lover.
Well, I'm going to have to start this out with another apology. The Elder was supposed to do a Flashback Friday this week, but he only now told me that he hasn't, so I don't have time to do one. Thankfully, my exams are finally over, so I'm going to spend the next three weeks writing up posts and putting them in the schedule thing. Probably should've done that a long time ago, but... oh well.
Sorry about not posting today, but I'll make sure to post next week.
Ocean Grid are a post-hardcore, metalcore band formed in January 2013 in Cincinnati, Ohio. It's been fairly difficult for me to find information on these guys, and believe me, I have tried. In fact, I spoke to one of their vocalists, Andrew Isler to clear things up, but then right before I wrote this review, somehow all the messages were deleted! *sigh* So, I apologize in advance if I missed any info out. The band consists of: Andrew Isler - Vocals Dustin Kidwell - Vocals Brad Kaufman - Guitar Danny Daugherty - Guitar Greg Gonzales(or Donald Allen on here) - Bass Zak Nova - Drums So far, they have an EP called Ambitions; 1. "Intro" - 1:45 2. "Resilience" - 3:29 3. "Ambitions" - 3:15 4. "Run from the Vices" - 3:43 5. "Second Chances" - 3:52 6. "A Life Worth Living" - 4:31
and they have two singles;
1. "Words to Live By" - 3:24 2. "Mind Over Monsters" - 3:55
which were both officially released in September 2014.
Now, onto the actual review! Personally, I enjoy listening to Ocean Grid. Alongside sounding great, their music also sends great messages and not only that, from what I can tell their band members are very friendly. Their most recent song, Mind Over Monsters, is definitely my favourite. On their Facebook page, they actually posted it in honour of Suicide Awareness Day, which I think is an amazing thing to do. They've so far been very successful, especially considering they aren't even two years old yet. Just check them out on YouTube or on ReverbNation and see what you think of them.
I don't really have much else to say, but give 'em a go and see what you think. Tell me what you think! Who do you think we should do a band review on next?
P.S. Really sorry about how long this one took. I meant to do it over a month ago :(
Hey people, what's up? The Elf has been grinding my ass to do this post for the past month 'cause she's evil and I'm lazy. So here it goes;
Ed, Edd n Eddy
This was my favourite show growing up. It's all about 3 dudes trying to make enough money to buy a really, really large jawbreaker, that all the other kids in their cul-de-sac seem to have. To get this jawbreaker they come up with random schemes to scam the other kids out of money, but they never seem to work. Personally I love this show so much, 'cause I can relate to it... kinda... I mean, I was always doing things to make a quick dollar and, like these guys, it never worked. You should go check out this show if you haven't already! If your a 90's kid you probably have, though. It's amazing and I know it will always be a special part in my childhood.
So to re-cap, Ed, Edd n Eddy was a great show from Cartoon Network that should come back. It's original run was 10 years long and it's definitely better than any show on there at the moment, in my opinion. So what's your favourite show from your childhood? And what should I do next week? Sweet as! Have a good one dudes and dudettes!
Oh my god, this song makes my ears have babies. Well, not literally, but you get the idea. This is one of my favourite songs, originally by the White Stripes, but remixed by the Glitch Mob. Another one of my favourite bands. It's more of an electric/dubstep kind of genre, compared to the White Stripe's rock version of the song.
After an hour of running/walking, this song makes you feel like an assassin, or a superhero running to your next target and doesn't everyone think that's one of the best feelings to have?
I'm loving this song at the moment! Avril Lavigne's always been one of my favourite singers, she always has great messages in her songs and she's very out there. Her style is very unique and I love the fact that she just doesn't care what people think!
Her music is really good and I love her music videos. I've been a fan since I was like six or something. She's a great role model, because she doesn't care what people think, but she isn't s*utty or anything like that.
I hope she has a lot more albums to come and hope she has many more years of making amazing music and being a great role model.
Personality wise, she's also amazing because if you've ever seen any interview of her, you can see that she's very care free and funny. She seems like a great person, all of you other Avril fans out there probably think so too. I think more people should listen to her music, she's amazing! A lot of people don't like her because of some of the things she's done, but honestly she hasn't done anything wrong. She's just being herself and doing what she loves to do. Plus, she doesn't care if people don't like her music. If you don't like it, why are you listening to it? What do you think?
A Day to Remember A great American metal core/pop punk band I've been listening to for the last year or so. I love their music, they always have a great beat, a great message, and I love Jeremy McKinnon's voice. Their albums are always amazing and I love the songs they write because of the message they get across and just how good they sound, it's my kind of music! A lot of people didn't think their type of music was going to work, a lot of people still don't, but they made it work enough to get thousands of fans. I think they're amazing and more people should check out their music! They have four albums out, and they are;

Description: Pacific Rim is a movie set in the nearby future where monsters humans have named Kaiju attack the earth, but humans manage fight back using giant robots named Jaeger. Raleigh Becket was once a pilot of the Jaeger Gypsy Danger, until his brother died fighting along side him, after that he went into building walls to defend cities from the Kaiju, but then Commander Pentecost wants him back on the team, leading Raleigh into some of his toughest fights yet. . .
Review: I really enjoyed Pacific Rim, it's not often you see a Sci-fi, giant robot, action film that looks as realistic as this one. The story was well written and it was amazing to see Mako's and Pentecost's story join together without their type of relationship being completely obvious. To be honest the only bad part of the movie was the credits cut-scene, it was unnecessary and added an irritating humor. A part from that it was a great movie, definitely one worth watching. If you've seen it, did you enjoy it as much as I did?
