Christmas Tale: Part 2

Christmas Tale
Part Two

'Twas the day of Christmas,
And all through the house,
Every creature was stirring,
Even the mouse.

All kids were grounded,
For their late night,
That gave mum and dad,
A bloody big fright.

The Greek went home,
For he was a dick,
He decided to ditch,
What a bloody big prick.

Santa Claus was hungover,
But all gifts were there,
All four felt great pride,
as they gave them a stare.

"We did a good thing," Merlin laughed aloud,
The Elder smiled, "Santa would be proud."
The Elf's lips' corners lifted,
As she gave The short Dwarf a look,
They then said in time, "This should be in a book."

And that's how the story of drunk Christmas began,
With a tipsy 'Claus and a bloody great plan.
Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a bloody great night.

Update!!

Update!!

Hello everyone!
Merry Christmas to all and we hope you've all had a fantastic day, we know we have.
This year was actually even busier than last year, so we have been worse than ever at keeping things updated and posting often. We are very, very sorry about that, but we're definitely going to pick up the Christmas spirit for the rest of the month and, as our New Year's resolution, we're going to try to post at least five times every month from now on.
Unfortunately, most of these posts will still be by me, since I have internet access most often and am available to do things on a more regular basis. Next year, The Dwarf and The Elder will be posting more often, I assure you, but probably still not as often as we would like. We all have busy lives, but we will definitely try to be more consistent. If we still can't post very often, we apologize in advance, but we are aiming to have more regular posting by June next year - at the latest.
The Friday Flashbacks have been very inconsistent, but hopefully from next week on wards, we'll be posting every Friday. We also plan on doing as many new reviews as we can in the next few weeks, before we have to get back to school and work, etc... Otherwise, we plan to do more things for the blog next year, which we're quite excited about.
Hopefully, we'll have everything sorted next year and be much more organized.
In any case, we hope you all have a lovely Christmas! Best wishes to everyone and we hope you all get the things that were on your wishlist this year.
We love you all very much, and thank you for checking out the blog!

Seven Nation Army - Glitch Mob Remix

Song Of The Month!

Seven Nation Army Remix
By The Glitch Mob

Oh my god, this song makes my ears have babies. Well, not literally, but you get the idea. This is one of my favourite songs, originally by the White Stripes, but remixed by the Glitch Mob. Another one of my favourite bands. It's more of an electric/dubstep kind of genre, compared to the White Stripe's rock version of the song.

After an hour of running/walking, this song makes you feel like an assassin, or a superhero running to your next target and doesn't everyone think that's one of the best feelings to have?
I think so, so check it out!

Time In A Bottle - Jim Croce

Song Of The Month!

Time In A Bottle

By Jim Croce

It's not new, it's not pop and it's not on any FM radio. In fact, the only way I actually found this song is by hearing it on the new X-Men movie, Days of Future Past. Even if the song is old, and nowhere near the usual music I listen to, when both the beautiful chords and lyrics hit my ears I couldn't resist hearing the song over and over.
Give the song a go, you won't regret it.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

About:

This show is amazing. No joke.
It's Always Sunny follows a group of people that own a bar named paddy's. Each episode follow the Gang having good ideas, and some not so good ideas that lead them into trouble with many different -and strange- characters.

At the start of Season 2, Danny Devito began acting as Frank Reynolds, Dennis and Dee's father, which gave the show a sudden boost in ratings/viewers

The show itself -Created by Rob McElhenney-
aired on FX on August 4th 2005, and has been running ever since.

Cast

(obtained from Wikipedia)

  • Rob McElhenney as Ronald "Mac" McDonald – Mac is a co-owner of Paddy's Pub. He is Charlie Kelly's childhood friend and Dennis' high school friend and later roommate. The son of a convicted felon, Mac is frequently trying to demonstrate his toughness and refers to himself as the "sheriff of Paddy's". He also often brags about his hand-to-hand combat skills, although he typically flees any type of physical confrontation.
  • Glenn Howerton as Dennis Reynolds – Dennis is a co-owner of Paddy's Pub and is Deandra's twin brother. The most sociopathic of the characters, Dennis is abrasive, narcissistic, selfish, histrionic and vain. Much of his inflated ego is perpetuated by his Ivy League education at the University of Pennsylvania where he minored in Psychology.
  • Kaitlin Olson as Deandra "Sweet Dee" Reynolds – Sweet Dee is Dennis' twin sister, the main bartender at Paddy's Pub and the show's main female character. Sweet Dee dreams of becoming an actress although she lacks any apparent talent and occasionally suffers from debilitating stage fright. She wore a back brace in high school, leaving her with the nickname "the Aluminum Monster." She majored in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania but failed her classes. Dee lives in an apartment alone, although she had a cat at one point until it became trapped in her wall.

  • Charlie Day as Charlie Kelly – Charlie was co-owner at Paddy's Pub, but traded all his stocks for "goods and services", half a sandwich, and other unnamed reasons. He is a childhood friend of Mac and later high school friend of Dennis and Dee. He is also Frank's roommate. Charlie does most of the dirty work (referred to as "Charlie Work") at the pub, is borderline illiterate, an alcoholic and substance abuser and is often seen huffing glue/paint. He suffers from deep psychological problems, and lives in squalor. An abortion survivor, Charlie has extreme anger issues and often screams to get his point across. He also has a severely unhealthy obsession with "The Waitress," who finds Charlie repulsive and shows no interest in him.
  • Danny DeVito as Frank Reynolds (Season 2–present) – Frank is the legal father of twins Dennis and Sweet Dee, and may be the biological father of his roommate Charlie. He used to be a successful businessman with a long history of illegal operations and dealings with sordid characters, but chose to abandon that life and redeem himself after leaving his money-grabbing, cheating wife. He now shares a tiny, filthy studio apartment with Charlie, where they share a pullout couch.
Anyone out there seen this brilliant T.V. show?

Don't Stop - Five Seconds of Summer

  Song of the Month!

Don't Stop
By Five Seconds of Summer

Best pop-rock I've listened to in a long, LONG while, and I love it a buttload. The lyric video is so good and so far I've watched it more than fifty times just because of it's design and I'm not even exaggerating. I love it because it's not a like the popular songs where it's all about sluts or drinking. It's about dancing, and seeing that one person you can't take your eyes off because they love what they're doing, and everyone else can't stop looking either.
There is no reason why you can't dance to this song, so listen and get the hell up guys! Live a little! Who else is totally caught up on Five Seconds of Summer?

Say Something- Great Big World and Christina Aguilera

Say SomethingBy Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World

A great song by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera. It has had many different opinions on what the song is about, mainly involving a relationship ending or being fixed. To me, and I apologise if this a difficult subject for some, it is about a friend or family member talking/praying to a person who sadly either self-harmed or even worse, committed suicide. As sad as that is, it's why I love the song, it's touching and relates to me, thus why I wanted to share it. What do you think the song is about?

Enjoy!

Christmas Tale: Part 1

Christmas Tale
Part One

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all things were dark,
Except for one house, near Burnside Park.
The lights were turned on, inside and out,
Then two cheering girls decided to shout:
"Merry Christmas my dear friend! And let the season never end!"
The pair were joined by a group of three,
The signs on their faces were showing nothing but glee.
The Elder jumped up and onto the bed,
"Best Christmas so far." He finally said.
All of a sudden outside was a roar,
And the five ran out, and into the door.
"Ouch!" They all cried and yelled "What the hell?"
As their yelling was stopped by jolly red bells.
"Santa?" Merlin asked, "But, you aren't real?!"
Then his lips were magically sealed.
"'TIS I!" A drunken Saint Nick replied,
"Oh God, he's drunk." The Greek boy sighed.
Santa tripped over and out of his sleigh,
in a very informal and drunken way.
He waved his hand and gave his fingers a snap,
and not a second after, Merlin's voice came back.
"Santa can not deliver
presents like this!"
"Not when he's currently on the piss!"
"We should be Santa!" The Dwarf hit The Elf's arm,
"Well, we've done worse, so I don't see the harm."
The Dwarf dug through her bag and pulled out a red hat,
then onto the sleigh the five of them sat.
"This will be stupid." The Greek said with a grunt.
"Shut up, Greek boy. No body cares."
Moaned Merlin, who received multiple stares.
The Elf turned round to give them a slap,
Then turned on the radio to Eminem's rap.
As the five of them cheered, the sleigh lifted up,
And coffee spilled out of The Elder's cup.
House after house, the presents dropped in,
"This is quite fun." The Elf said with a grin.
Five hours later, with lots of complaints,
They headed home to watch Boondock Saints.
They went backwards and forwards, trying to find their way,
But navigation was difficult, in the red sleigh.
After a while they were back on track,
And The Elf and Dwarf said back to back:
"See, I told you this Christmas would be fun."
"Yes, but drive faster, I can already see the sun."
They parked on the driveway, as quiet as a mouse,
And tried to sneak into the Christmassy house.
Their mum opened the door and said, "You're all grounded."
"WHAT?!" They all screamed, rather astounded.

THE END OF PART ONE

What did you think? We'll be posting part two next year ;)

Letter To Santa

DEAR SANTA,

I am the Dwarf, and I'd like you to know I have been good this whole year, a part from a few minor incidents... ANYWAY, compared to my last years of being "naughty" this year I have been nicer than usual. I hope that means something...

For this Christmas, I wish for a few minor things:
-World Domination
-A nuke, preferably targeted at the moon, it makes a beautiful light display
-A big red button for the Elder
-A reindeer, preferably with a big red nose to deliver the big red button
- And finally, money, a lot, like trillions.

PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Christmas Poem

Christmas Poem

A tree sparks joy, of those young and old,
And at the top, a star made of gold.
Either Santa Claus or boys in stables,
There's a celebration at all tables.

Those of us, on this blog,
Wish you the best, and lot's of egg-nog.
So let's celebrate now my friends,
As this season is soon to end.

21 Jump Street

21
Jump Street (2012)

Description:
21 Jump Street is an american movie, showing us the lives of two police officers, Morton Schmidt, a chubby nerd, and Greg Jenko, a typical jock. After Jenko fails at a great opportunity to arrest a drug dealer Domingo, all because he didn't read out his Miranda Rights, the pair are sent to go undercover as high school students, to stop the spread of a new drug called "Holy Fucking Shit" or H.F.S. What seems like an easy task really leaves the two helpless, hopeless, and hilarious in this action/comedy film.

Review:

In my opinion, 21 Jump Street isn't exactly the best comedy I've seem, but it does have some funny quotes, and who can forget Korean Jesus? But anyway, the film had a well thought out story, which now days we don't see much in comedy's, well, in any movies for that matter, and that is why I like this movie, it may seem like a joke, but at some points it really did prove that drugs suck balls, but damn, any high person will always look hysterical! But go on, see for yourself! If you already have, what did you think?
Ciao!

Pacific Rim Movie Review

   Pacific Rim (2013)

Description:
Pacific Rim is a movie set in the nearby future where monsters humans have named Kaiju attack the earth, but humans manage fight back using giant robots named Jaeger. Raleigh Becket was once a pilot of the Jaeger Gypsy Danger, until his brother died fighting along side him, after that he went into building walls to defend cities from the Kaiju, but then Commander Pentecost wants him back on the team, leading Raleigh into some of his toughest fights yet. . .

Review:
I really enjoyed Pacific Rim, it's not often you see a Sci-fi, giant robot, action film that looks as realistic as this one. The story was well written and it was amazing to see Mako's and Pentecost's story join together without their type of relationship being completely obvious. To be honest the only bad part of the movie was the credits cut-scene, it was unnecessary and added an irritating humor. A part from that it was a great movie, definitely one worth watching. If you've seen it, did you enjoy it as much as I did?

But that's my opinion, see for yourself!
Ciao!

The Losers Review

The Losers (2010)

Description:
The Losers is an action as well as comedy film based off the comic by Andy Diggle and Jock. It follows an elite Black-ops team that includes five men, each with their own specific talent. They are:
Lt. Col. Franklin Clay- Operational control.
Cpt. William Roque- Demo & Tactics
Cpt. Jake Jensen- Comms & Tech
Sgt. Linwood 'Pooch' Porteous- Transport & Heavy Weapons
And finally Sgt. Carlos 'Cougar' Alvarez- Long range eliminations.
The movie starts with the team in Bolivia, where they must destroy a compound run by a drug lord, until Cougar spots children on the premises. After Clay attempts to stop the plane that is about to drop the bomb he finds out that an unknown man by the name of Max is controlling it, and does not care for the children, so instead the team runs in and saves them, whilst killing the Drug lord. Once they get back to the helicopter they are unable to fit both them and the kids, so it's them, but as it begins to fly off it gets hit by a missile fired by Max. The losers are left in the ruins of ash and corpses that Clay stated "should have been them" knowing that they fake their deaths, forcing them to be stranded in Bolivia. After four months of being all most broke and homeless, Clay finds Aisha, a woman who has some information on Max, and she assists them on a new mission- to find Max and get revenge. This leads to twists and turns, lots of shooting, and a hilarious adventure.

The Dwarf's Review:
I enjoyed The Losers, it's rare to see an action film that includes so many genuinely funny quotes. It was also nice to see a few familiar faces, like Chris Evans (Captain America/Steve Rogers) & Jeffery Dean Morgan (John Winchester). The film didn't cover the entire comic but I believe that's a good thing, (WARNING: Comic Spoilers) In the comic most of the team die, in truly awful and depressing ways, so If they included that in the movie it would be Bridge to Terabithia all over again, and nobody would want that. Over all the movie was great, I certainly recommend everybody to watch it, but that's just my opinion. What did you think?
That's all folks! Ciao!

Silent Hill (2006)

Silent Hill (2006)

Description:
Silent Hill is a horror film, based off the Silent Hill game series created by Konami. The film follows a woman named Rose, the mother of adopted child named Sharon, whom she attempts to drive out to the mysterious place called Silent Hill, a town Sharon talks about in her sleep. Unfortunately, on Roses way there she ends up in an accident, leaving her unconscious only to awaken to Sharon missing from the front seat; while Rose is looking for her daughter, she uncovers secrets about her child's past forcing her to explore further into the town, whilst things lurk in the shadows, waiting for the darkness to come.

The Dwarf's Review:
In my personal opinion, Silent Hill is one of the best horrors I've actually seen story wise. The way the film has been put together makes you stay on the edge of your seat the majority of the time because of that fear you get when your certain that another creature is going to grab Rose from behind and hurt, and probably even kill her in the most gruesome ways. Although this movie has very good high points, the whole thing was not wrapped up in the most pleasant of ways, no one really understands what happens, you sit down afterwards wondering 'was that it?'
But I guess that's what made people want to go see the second one so bad, but that's another review.
What did you guys think about the end?
Until next time folks, Ciao!
