The Losers Review

The Losers (2010)

Description:
The Losers is an action as well as comedy film based off the comic by Andy Diggle and Jock. It follows an elite Black-ops team that includes five men, each with their own specific talent. They are:
Lt. Col. Franklin Clay- Operational control.
Cpt. William Roque- Demo & Tactics
Cpt. Jake Jensen- Comms & Tech
Sgt. Linwood 'Pooch' Porteous- Transport & Heavy Weapons
And finally Sgt. Carlos 'Cougar' Alvarez- Long range eliminations.
The movie starts with the team in Bolivia, where they must destroy a compound run by a drug lord, until Cougar spots children on the premises. After Clay attempts to stop the plane that is about to drop the bomb he finds out that an unknown man by the name of Max is controlling it, and does not care for the children, so instead the team runs in and saves them, whilst killing the Drug lord. Once they get back to the helicopter they are unable to fit both them and the kids, so it's them, but as it begins to fly off it gets hit by a missile fired by Max. The losers are left in the ruins of ash and corpses that Clay stated "should have been them" knowing that they fake their deaths, forcing them to be stranded in Bolivia. After four months of being all most broke and homeless, Clay finds Aisha, a woman who has some information on Max, and she assists them on a new mission- to find Max and get revenge. This leads to twists and turns, lots of shooting, and a hilarious adventure.

The Dwarf's Review:
I enjoyed The Losers, it's rare to see an action film that includes so many genuinely funny quotes. It was also nice to see a few familiar faces, like Chris Evans (Captain America/Steve Rogers) & Jeffery Dean Morgan (John Winchester). The film didn't cover the entire comic but I believe that's a good thing, (WARNING: Comic Spoilers) In the comic most of the team die, in truly awful and depressing ways, so If they included that in the movie it would be Bridge to Terabithia all over again, and nobody would want that. Over all the movie was great, I certainly recommend everybody to watch it, but that's just my opinion. What did you think?
That's all folks! Ciao!
